ON WONDERING WHAT TO DO, April 1997

I did not think when once I sped
Laughing through the grassy fields
That I would come to ripe old age
Still wondering what life would bring.
I can no longer leap as an hart
But look towards my years to come
With hope in season that I may
Laugh and rejoice in company
Of friends and loved ones
Using my yet untapped resource
To fill the hours and days
With promise of new joys to come.
