ON TURNING OVER IN BED AFTER AN OPERATION, July 1997
Thank you Lord for the ability
To turn on my other side.
How much this means to me
For such a small movement.
How precious are these times,
Aspects of life which suddenly
We are without. How rarely
We give thanks for little things –
For the sun rising, for walking,
For using our hands, for the gentle rain,
For our sight and hearing,
For our feet, for the multitude
Of God-given blessings.
Thank you, Lord, for again
Being able to turn over.
