IN SUNLIGHT, March 1999
It fell. Sudden as sunlight.
A raindrop, filling my eye,
Blinding briefly but exhilarating, for the day
Was dry, the ground arid.
This moment then was full of joy –
Surely sun and rain combined
Would form those glorious hues
Which give birth to rainbows
With their hopeful promise.
